Le tourisme de masse explose en Chine, sa plus vivante expression etant les hordes d'envahisseurs en casquettes rouges lances a l'assaut du patrimoine ancestral fraichement renove. Joyeux, bruyants, consommateurs effrenes, ils sont a l'image de la Chine d'aujourd'hui - Mass tourism is booming in China, its most lively expression being the hords of red cap invaders, rushing on the historical places newly refurbished. Happy and noisy, unsatisfied consumers, they reflect today's China.

I would prefer to say "rushing on the historical places newly created".
Because that's that also in China: conceive and create new fake places in order to welcome the People (with a big "P") eager to 买东西!
